Message from the President

We have an integral role in the domestic power business of the Mitsubishi Corporation.
In our group, Mitsubishi Corporation Offshore Wind Ltd. promotes offshore wind power generation projects in Japan, and Mitsubishi Corporation Clean Energy Ltd. promotes renewable energy power generation projects, such as PV(Photovoltaic), Onshore wind, and Hydroelectric power, and carbon-free power plant business in Japan. Through these two companies, we are working to assure a stable supply of clean electricity by developing and operating power supply assets with high environmental value.
Amid the global movement toward carbon neutrality, Japan is also making active efforts to realize a carbon-neutral society by 2050.
We take this change in the market environment as an opportunity to broaden collaboration with partners who also aim for carbon neutrality, create new businesses, and contribute to building an environmentally friendly future.
We will practice the Three Corporate Principles of the Mitsubishi Corporation Group—”Shoki Hoko” (Corporate Responsibility to Society), “Shoji Komei” (Integrity and Fairness), and “Ritsugyo Boeki” (Global Understanding Through Business)—in the power business field while making sincere efforts to realize a carbon-neutral society, contribute to the development of Japan and local communities, and meet the expectations of our stakeholders.

2002
- Started working on on-site power generation projects in the Power & Electrical Systems Department, Power & Electrical Systems Division, Mitsubishi Corporation.

2004
- Started an on-site power generation project for the Kirin Brewery Fukuoka Plant (subsequently expanded to other factories).

- Started on-site project at Mitsubishi Chemical’s Kawajiri District and Shiohama District (Yokkaichi).

2008
- Started on-site projects for the Mazda Head Office Plant and Chugoku Lumber Kashima Factory.

2010
- Started on-site project for JSR Yokkaichi Plant.

2013
- Established Diamond Solar Japan, a management company of the domestic mega-solar business.
- Started operation of a mega-solar project at a site adjacent to Aso Kumamoto Airport in Kumamoto Prefecture.
- Started on-site project for the Mazda Hofu Plant.

2014
- Started construction of IPP power generation facilities at Nippon Paper Industries’ Fuji Mill (Suzukawa) in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, together with Nippon Paper Industries and Chubu Electric Power.
- Started on-site project for Niigata Mill of Hokuetsu Kishu Paper.
- Started operation of mega-solar project at the plant of Nihon Kasei in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.
- Commenced environmental assessment for wind power generation project in Kuzumaki Town, Iwate Prefecture.

2015
- Started operation of mega-solar projects at Onahama Petroleum in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture; the Komatsushima Mill of Nippon Paper Industries in Tokushima Prefecture; the coastal industrial zone in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture; a former golf course site in Tadewaramachi, Nagasaki Prefecture; and a former salt evaporation pond in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture.
- A consortium, in which our company is participating, was selected as operators for an offshore wind power project in Iwafune, Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, and we commenced feasibility studies.
- Selected together with Kyushu Electric Power as a geothermal power generation operator in Minamiaso Village, Kumamoto Prefecture, and commenced surface survey.
- Basic agreement regarding implementation of IPP project at Nippon Paper Industries and its Ishinomaki Mill.
- Began construction of co-generation power plant on the Mizushima Plant of Mitsubishi Chemical.
- On October 1, established a new entity, Mitsubishi Corporation Power, as an individual subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation to carry out the development and operation of onsite power generation, thermal IPP, and renewable energy businesses.

2016
- Started business operation of Suzukawa Energy Center, our first thermal IPP project.
- Started power generation business using the world’s most advanced integrated coal gasification combined cycle (IGCC) technology for Fukushima reconstruction, achieving one of Japan’s largest project finance arrangements.
- Executed financial close for the Akita Katagami wind power project.

2017
- Obtained the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry’s recommendation regarding the draft environmental impact statement for the Iwate Kuzumaki wind power project.
- Started commercial operation of the Kochi Kami mega-solar project.

2021
- Changed company name to Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions Ltd.

2022
- On July 1, our company, Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions Ltd. newly established Mitsubishi Corporation Clean Energy Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation Offshore Wind Ltd. through an incorporation-type company split.
Our renewable energy power generation business, ( onsite power generation business, IPP power generation business, and power plant sales and after-service business, except for offshore wind power business ) were transferred to Mitsubishi Corporation Clean Energy Ltd., while the offshore wind power generation business were transferred to Mitsubishi Corporation Offshore Wind Ltd..
- On July 1, our company, Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions Ltd. newly established Mitsubishi Corporation Clean Energy Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation Offshore Wind Ltd. through an incorporation-type company split.
Note: Onsite power generation business: We A business that owns private power generation facilities within a customer’s plant and supplies steam and electricity to the plant.
